Inez Rae Hiatt, age 66 of Centerville, Iowa passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022.
She was born on November 9, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Lewis and Marie (Strode) Blecher.
Inez could be defined as a person with a big heart. Never afraid to help those in need, she operated with an open-door policy at her home. If a person was down on their luck or needed a place to eat or sleep, Inez would offer without hesitation. Although she was not rich in monetary terms, Inez would give the shirt off her back, never asking for the action to be reciprocated. She simply loved selflessly and will be dearly missed by many.
Left to honor her memory include her two children, Michelle McDaniel of Pleasant Hill, Iowa and Zachary Hiatt of Centerville, Iowa; five grandchildren, Madison Sheston, Owen McDaniel, Ean McDaniel, Matthew Jon Hiatt, and Violet Hiatt; three great grandchildren; her sister, Betty Lou McVeigh of Numa, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as countless friends.
Inez was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Marie (Strode) Blecher; her son, Matthew Ray Hiatt; a brother-in-law, David McVeigh; as well as a nephew, Jade Prokes.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the Centerville Reservoir. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Michelle McDaniel, to be determined at a later date, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, IA, 52544.
