Dorothy Moore, 97, of Oskaloosa, died Saturday, July 2, 2022, at the Oskaloosa Care Center in Oskaloosa. She was born on January 3, 1925, in Mahaska County, the daughter of Arie E. and Georgia (Rhinehart) Vanderlinden. She attended Oskaloosa High School and graduated with the Class of 1943. On May 1, 1946, she was united in marriage to Roy Moore at the First Christian Church in Oskaloosa. They shared 67 years of marriage together until Roy passed away in 2014.

Dorothy worked at the Telephone Company until her marriage. She then went to work for Farmers Savings Bank (now Bank Iowa) in Fremont. She worked as a teller and a bookkeeper until retiring after 35 years. She was a member of the Park Church of Christ in University Park. She enjoyed bowling in several leagues over the years, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.

Her family includes her daughter, Ann (Leo) Veldhuizen of Albia; her grandchildren, Randy (Kim) Veldhuizen of Oskaloosa and Robert (Jill) Veldhuizen of Eddyville; her great grandchildren, Cody (Jacqueline) Veldhuizen of West Des Moines and James Veldhuizen; step great grandchildren, Emma McDonough, Sarah (Jay) Wills, Gregory (Andy Corbin) Haines and Logan Ashman; step great great grandchildren, Hayden and Breckin; her brothers Donald Vanderlinden of Arizona, Kenneth (Marsha) Vanderlinden of Virginia, William (Ann) Vanderlinden of Tennessee and and a sister, Alice Howard of Idaho. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her grandparents; her brothers, Garrett (Virginia) Vanderlinden, Eugene (Thelma) Vanderlinden amd Charles Vanderlinden; her sisters, Ethel (Keith) Mattox, Martha (Melvin) Durham and Mary Hols; a sister-in-law, Joyce Vanderlinden and a brother-in-law, Bruce Howard.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel with Reverend Chad Leirman officiating. Burial will take place in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa following the service. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will begin Tuesday, July 5, 2022, after 12 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 5-7 Tuesday evening to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to the family.
