Main Street Ottumwa is currently accepting applications for an initiative that features area veterans that will be displayed on Main Street in downtown Ottumwa.

Hometown Heroes is a banner program that recognizes and honors those who are serving or have served in the United States Armed forces. Each banner is custom-made with an image of an honoree provided by an applicant. According to Main Street Ottumwa, Banners will be placed on the decorative light poles on Main Street on or about Memorial Day and will remain up until Veterans Day, 2022. They will be displayed again in 2023 from Memorial Day to Veterans Day.

A banner costs $150 and it will be displayed for two years. Applications can be found online at http://www.MainStreetOttumwa.com or at the Main Street Ottumwa office at 334 East Main Street. The deadline to submit an application is April 8th.
