Ronald Gene Tolle, 86, of Ottumwa died at 8:20 a.m. September 19, 2020 at Ridgewood Specialty Care.
He was born April 17, 1934 in Galt, MO to John L. and Mamie L. Burress Tolle. He married Lucille Dunkin March 15, 1953. She preceded him in death August 11, 2009.
A resident of Ottumwa most of his life, Ronald served for 18 years as a police officer with the Ottumwa Police Department, retiring in 1988.
He was a member of the Ottumwa Policeman Association and the NRA. Ronald enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming.
Surviving are his children, Candace Glattfelder of Ottumwa, Randall (Neta) Tolle of Glenwood; 4 grandchildren, Brandon (Angie) Tolle, Nikki Pottorff, Ashley (Marc) Dereu and Christina (Josh) Brown; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Arthur (Mae) Tolle of Webster City; a sister, Jonalee (Bruce) Beard of Hallsville, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Rex Glattfelder; a brother and sister-in-law, Albert William and Pat Tolle.
Limited open visitation for friends will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, September 22nd at Reece Funeral Home.
Private funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 23rd at Reece Funeral Home with Richard Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Galt, MO.
Memorials may be made to Wapello County Sheriff Department K-9 Unit or Heartland Humane Society.
