Judith A. Stout, 72, of Ottumwa died at 1:25 p.m. October 9, 2021 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
She was born April 4, 1949 in Ottumwa to Dale and Mary Stansberry Edgington.
A resident of Ottumwa all her life, she was a 1967 graduate of Ottumwa High School. Judith had worked as an employee at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Ottumwa. She loved to make cards and spend time with her cats, Sammi and Sydney.
Surviving is a daughter, Jennifer (Sue) Mitchell-Stout of Ottumwa; her mother, Mary Edgington of Ottumwa; four step grandchildren, Laura Berry, Lindsey Bresee, Paul Dyer and Brian Dyer; three brothers, Roger (Teresa) Edgington of Hastings, NE, Steve Edgington of Ottumwa and Kevin Edgington of Bloomfield; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents and a longtime special friend, Craig Nalley.
Visitation will be open at 11 a.m. Wednesday October 13th at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday October 14th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Schlotter officiating. For those unable to attend the service, you may watch live on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Humane Society or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
