A Marion County woman is facing a serious misdemeanor charge after allegedly assaulting a man she lives with last week.
Megan Schmidt, 48, of Pleasantville, was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault – Injury or Mental Illness – 1st Offense, a serious misdemeanor, following an incident on Friday, October 23rd.
According to court documents, the incident began around 9 p.m. with a verbal argument in which the victim attempted to disengage from Schmidt. Schmidt allegedly followed the victim into the garage and slapped him repeatedly in the face, causing bruising to his left cheek. The two have lived together since April and are in a relationship.
As of publication, no initial appearance had been held.
