The Conservation Foundation of Jefferson County has launched a new community giving program aimed at supporting the parks, trails and outdoor spaces that make the county a destination for recreation and nature.
Friends of Jefferson County Conservation invites individuals, families and businesses to contribute to the foundation’s ongoing work alongside Jefferson County Conservation to enhance, restore and protect local natural areas.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the foundation has a history of funding projects throughout the county, including playground equipment, camping facilities, trails, canoes, kayaks and archery equipment. Contributions through the new Friends program will help support environmental education programs and school field trips, wildlife habitat restoration and conservation, trail development and maintenance, park improvements and equipment, and community events such as Outdoor Adventure Night.
Supporters can choose from five giving levels: Individual at $30, Family at $75, Business at $200, Prairie Partner at $500 and Mighty Oak at $1,000. For local businesses, the program offers an opportunity to invest in shared community spaces enjoyed by employees, families and visitors.
