National Day of the Deployed Honors Military Service Members and Families

National Day of the Deployed is a time to recognize and honor the men and women serving in the United States Armed Forces who are deployed away from home and the families who support them during their time apart.

Observed annually on October 26, the day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by deployed service members who leave behind their families, friends, and communities to serve their country. Their dedication and commitment help protect the nation and support military missions around the world.

The day also recognizes the strength and resilience of military families. Spouses, children, parents, and loved ones often face long periods of separation while managing daily responsibilities and waiting for their service members to return home safely.

For many families, deployment brings uncertainty, emotional challenges, and the difficulty of missing important milestones and everyday moments. Their continued support plays an important role in helping service members carry out their duties.

National Day of the Deployed encourages Americans to show appreciation for those serving far from home and to remember the loved ones who stand behind them.

Today, we salute every deployed service member for their courage, dedication, and sacrifice. We also recognize the families who serve in their own way through patience, strength, and unwavering support.

Thank you to our deployed service members and their families for your service, sacrifice, and commitment to our nation.
