Keokuk County voters preparing for the November 3rd, 2026 General Election should be aware of several upcoming deadlines for voter registration and absentee voting.
The pre-registration deadline for voter registration is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 19th. Voters who register after October 19th will be required to provide proof of identification — a current and valid photo ID with an expiration date — as well as proof of residency in their voting precinct when they go to the polls or request an absentee ballot in person. Those not registered by October 19th should also expect a longer processing time at the polls on Election Day.
Absentee ballots will be mailed beginning October 14th, when in-person absentee voting also begins at the Keokuk County Auditor’s Office. All absentee ballots must be received by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day to be counted. Postmarks are no longer accepted.
