Van Buren County Hospital is asking patients and visitors experiencing measles symptoms or potential exposure to call before entering the facility, as measles cases continue to rise across Iowa, according to a social media post from the hospital.
Anyone coming to Van Buren County Hospital who has a fever greater than 104 degrees, cough, runny nose, red and watery eyes, a rash, tiny white spots inside the mouth, or exposure to someone with measles within the past 21 days is asked to remain in their vehicle and call 319-293-8732 before entering. Hospital staff will provide instructions and take appropriate precautions to help prevent the spread of illness.
The hospital is asking the community to follow these guidelines to help protect patients, staff, and visitors during the ongoing outbreak.
