An Oskaloosa woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly assaulting a police officer, a nurse, and a paramedic during an early morning incident on August 6th.

Miada Craven, 18, has been charged with three counts of Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations, each an aggravated misdemeanor, as well as Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, a serious misdemeanor, and Interference with Official Acts, a simple misdemeanor.

According to court documents, officers were dispatched to a disturbance at approximately 2:26 a.m. on August 6th. While officers were investigating, Craven allegedly pushed a police officer, ignored commands, and resisted being placed in handcuffs. The officer did not sustain any injuries.

While being transported to a room at the hospital to receive medical care, Craven allegedly spit on the face and right arm of a nurse, and also spit on the face of a paramedic.

Court documents also state that Craven shattered a glass screen door, which she was attempting to break through, witnessed by three other people.

Following her initial appearance, Craven was held on a $6,000 cash or surety bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 14th.
