Phyllis Joann Norman Teller, 88, passed away at her home in Arizona on June 27, 2026. She was a former resident of Ottumwa, Iowa, where her husband, Richard (Dick) L. Norman, served as Pastor of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Joann was born November 17, 1937, in Indiana to Clarence and Edith Van Fossen. One of five children, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Ronald, Carolyn, Dorothy, and Norman. Joann lived in Indiana and Michigan, where she married Dick Norman, and resided in multiple locations throughout the Midwest during her life. She and Dick were married for 40 years before he preceded her in death on November 23, 1996. After Dick’s passing, she married Stanley W. Teller, and they were married for 26 years until his passing.
Joann and Dick are survived by their four children; Debbie (Doug) Holmes, Greg (Mary) Norman, Jeff (Marcia) Norman, and Julie (Todd) Koobs. They were blessed with nine grandchildren; Tiffany (Arwin), Ashley, Cassandra, McKenzie (Jeff), Madison, Clayton, Morgan, Lauren (Seth), and Ryann; and four great-grandchildren: Rilee, Emry, Declan, and Gabriel.
A private burial will be held at Ottumwa Cemetery.
