Lynita married William (Bill) Brown in 1975, and they had two children – Cory and Audra. They later divorced. She was a strong advocate for her disabled children and lived in Piqua, Ohio for a short time so her children could receive specialized therapy.

In 2002, Lynita moved to Nixa, Mo. and lived in a group home for disabled adults, where she met Leslie “Sonny” Glenn. They married in 2006 and moved back to Ottumwa together.
After her husband died in 2015, Lynita moved to Albia to live at Brees Rest Home. She enjoyed living close to her sister Denise Baker in Albia, and she loved spending time with the Brees Rest Home director, Heather Hindman, who became a dear friend.
During her time living at Brees, Lynita loved the playful moments with her housemates, especially when they teased and joked with her, creating laughter and friendship that will be deeply missed. Her warm heart, creativity and joyful personality touched many lives, and her memory will continue to bring comfort to those who loved her.
