Hook’s Pub & Grill suffered a devastating fire during the early morning hours, leaving extensive damage to the popular local business.
Owners Brian and Amy expressed gratitude that the fire occurred after closing hours, when all customers and employees had safely gone home. No injuries were reported.
While everyone escaped harm, the fire caused significant damage to the building from flames, smoke, and water, leaving the future of the business uncertain.
In a statement released following the incident, the owners thanked the community for the outpouring of support they have received throughout the day.
“Amy and I want to sincerely thank everyone who has reached out today with kind words, prayers, and support,” the statement said.
The owners also expressed appreciation to the Clinton and Camanche Fire Departments for their efforts in battling the blaze and attempting to save the business.
As they begin assessing the damage and exploring next steps, many questions remain about whether and when Hook’s Pub & Grill may be able to reopen.
The owners are also asking the community to support their staff, who unexpectedly found themselves without work following the fire. They described their employees as hardworking and dedicated individuals who would be valuable additions to other businesses in the hospitality industry.
Local bar, restaurant, and hospitality owners seeking employees are encouraged to contact the owners or staff members directly.
The owners asked the community to keep their family, employees, and everyone connected to Hook’s Pub & Grill in their thoughts during this difficult time.
