The June Veterans Food Distribution will be held this Thursday, June 4, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Emergency Management facility located at 2417 Emma Street, between the Ottumwa Saddle Club and the Recycling Center.
This will be the final distribution before the annual re-registration process begins. During the month of July, all veterans and surviving spouses (widows or widowers) who participate in the program must complete re-registration.
To register or re-register, recipients must provide proof of their name, veteran status, address, and household size. Surviving spouses must also provide documentation showing the deceased veteran’s military service.
Veterans and community members are also encouraged to tune in Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. to Veterans Corner on Dialogue 1240 AM, featuring Deb and Don along with host Ellis Kodjoe. The program will share the menu for the food distribution later that day and feature a special guest.
Organizers would also like to remind participants not to begin lining up before 3:30 p.m. Arriving early can create traffic congestion and safety concerns in the area. Your cooperation is appreciated in helping ensure a safe and orderly distribution for everyone.
