Melissa Liane Huston, 56, of Ottumwa, died at 5:30 a.m. May 25, 2026 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
She was born October 2, 1969 in Ottumwa to Gary and Sandy Clark Pierson. Melissa married Jason Huston on November 10, 2006.
A 1988 graduate of Ottumwa High School, she managed rental properties. Melissa loved fostering dogs and other animals. She enjoyed gardening, wildlife, being outdoors, and loved drawing.
Surviving is her husband, Jason; their children, Brittney Johnson of Fort Dodge, Aden Huston of Ottumwa and step-son Taylor Huston of Ottumwa; 3 grandchildren, Addy, Lexi and Eevie; her mother Sandy Clark; her father, Gary Pierson; her brother, Trenton White and her sister Kallie Kochuyt.
She was preceded in death by her step-father, Tim Huff.
Private graveside services and burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
