Nancy Ellen Critchlow McWilliams, 83, of Ottumwa died at 6:15 p.m. April 28, 2026 at Lucas County Health Center in Chariton.
She was born April 19, 1943 in Ottumwa to Gentry D. and Helen L. Palmer Harper. She married Eddie L. Critchlow Jr. and he preceded her in death July 4, 1977.
A 1961 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Nancy attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines. She worked a short time for an insurance agency, Hormel and CIT before beginning her career at South Ottumwa Savings Bank as a teller on January 20, 1975. Over the years, Nancy worked in various departments, as well as heading up the Sunshine Club trips, retiring as Vice President, Compliance Officer and Sunshine Club Director on April 24, 2020.
Nancy was a member of P.E.O. Chapter OL. She served on various community boards and committees throughout her career including South Ottumwa Boosters, Ottumwa Chamber of Commerce, the Iowa Tourism Board and was a volunteer for United Way. She loved to travel and had been to all 50 states as well as multiple continents. She also enjoyed caring for her dog, Rizzo.
Surviving are her children, Kris (Andy) Reardon-Finke of Lake Geneva, WI, Mick (Robin) Critchlow of Chariton and Angi (Kent) Farley of Cedar Falls; 11 grandchildren, Tyler, Levi, Dylaneigh, Sawyer, Bradi, Becker, Ryan, Nicki, Jensen, Carter and Samantha; and 4 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Holland, Whitley and Kylie.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be open after 2 p.m. Friday, May 1st at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 2nd at Reece Funeral Home with Chaplain Doug McAntire officiating. Cremation will take place after the service.
Memorials may be made to the Welcome Home Soldier Monument Fund or Heartland Humane Society.
