Sandra Irene Wycoff, 84, of Ottumwa, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Harvest Acres Nursing Home in Keota.
Sandra was born February 9, 1942, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Charles R. and Laila Kaufer. At the age of 9, she moved with her family to Montclair, California. She was united in marriage with Rex Wycoff December 24, 1961. Upon graduation from business school, she worked in banking until her retirement. In 1993, she and Rex relocated to Missouri, and in 2004 made their home in Iowa.
Sandra was deeply devoted to her family and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. She was Danielle and Julianne’s biggest cheerleader, faithfully attending their events no matter the time or distance. She loved socializing with her Agency Coffee group, family, and friends, and had a lifelong curiosity that led her to take many night classes with her dear friend, Judy. Sandra enjoyed reading, knitting, and camping, and was known for her generosity and kind heart.
Despite declining health in her final year, Sandra found great joy in the birth of her great-granddaughter, Lainey Carden, on June 27th. Seeing photos and videos of Lainey always brought a special light to her eyes.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura Serene of Kona, Hawaii; her sons, Larry (Peggy) Wycoff of Springfield, Missouri, and Ron (Carole Ann) Wycoff of Ottumwa; her brother, Jerome (Shirley) Kaufer; and her sister, Susan (Calvin) Allsup, both of California. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Danielle (Jake) Carden of Woodbury, Minnesota; Julianne Wycoff of Chandler, Arizona; and Ronald, Stephanie, Michael Wycoff, and Christine Brabo of Missouri; as well as 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex her parents, Charles and Laila; her son, Daniel; and her brothers, Kenny, Gordon, and Charles Kaufer.
Sandra rests now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, knowing she was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
In accordance with her wishes, her body will be cremated with a private family burial service to be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
