Authorities are searching for an inmate who failed to return to a work release facility as required earlier this week.
According to officials, Sabastian David Bustillos did not return to the Davenport Work Release/OWI Center on Monday, April 20, 2026, in violation of the terms of his placement in the program.
Bustillos is currently serving a sentence out of Clinton County for First-Degree Burglary and Second-Degree Criminal Mischief. He had been admitted to the work release facility on January 26, 2026, as part of his custody status.
He is described as a 27-year-old male, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing around 218 pounds.
The Iowa Department of Corrections has issued a request for public assistance in locating him. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact local law enforcement.
Work release programs in Iowa allow eligible individuals to leave a correctional facility for employment and other approved activities, but they are required to return as scheduled. Failure to do so may result in additional charges and a return to a more secure custody setting.
