The Van Buren County girls and boys track and field teams, along with the Fairfield boys, competed Monday, April 13th at the WACO Relays, with the Van Buren County girls finishing second and the boys finishing second as well in their respective team standings.
Girls Team Standings
WACO won the girls team title with 70 points, followed by Van Buren County with 65 and Springville with 52.
Boys Team Standings
Iowa Valley won the boys team title with 163 points, followed by Van Buren County with 131, Washington with 117, WACO with 100, Springville with 33, and Fairfield with 31.
Van Buren County Girls Results
Briley Losey won the shot put at 31-01 and the discus at 90-06. The 4×100 relay team of Aida Troutman, Ava Loeffler, Daphny Wells, and Emma Coffin won in 53.00. The 4×800 relay team of Kayley Snowgren, Adalyn Snowgren, Gabby Titus, and Rory Philips won in 11:01.79. The sprint medley team of Aida Troutman, Emma Coffin, Daphny Wells, and Ava Loeffler won in 1:57.53. The distance medley team of Emma Coffin, Daphny Wells, Ava Loeffler, and Kayley Snowgren won in 4:37.66.
Aida Troutman placed second in the 100-meter dash in 13.79, with Grace Richards behind in placing eighth in 15.43. Emma Coffin placed second in the 200-meter dash in 28.25, Willow Worley eighth in 31.75, and Grace Richards ninth in 31.86 behind winner Ryen Pepper of WACO at 26.83. Rory Philips placed third in the 400-meter dash in 1:07.46 and Gabby Titus fourth in 1:11.24 behind winner Josie Dykstra of WACO at 1:02.29.
Aubrey Loeffler placed third in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:13.09 and Adalyn Snowgren sixth in 1:22.04 behind winner Josie Dykstra of WACO at 1:10.43. Armoney Adams placed sixth in the 100-meter hurdles in 20.08 and Willow Worley eighth in 21.16 behind winner Rowan Jacobi of Springville at 16.00. The shuttle hurdle relay team of Ali Pedretti, Aubrey Loeffler, Willow Worley, and Armoney Adams placed third in 1:22.63 behind winner Springville at 1:10.58.
Kayley Snowgren placed third in the 800-meter run in 2:37.27 and Gabby Titus fourth in 2:42.26 behind winner Carlee Lunsford of WACO at 2:32.28. Rylee Philips placed second in the 1,500-meter run in 5:32.71 and Rory Philips third in 5:41.97 behind winner Macie Carter of WACO at 5:26.50. Rylee Philips placed third in the 3,000-meter run in 12:49.18 behind Carter’s winning time of 11:49.52.
The 4×200 team of Adalyn Snowgren, Aubrey Loeffler, Ali Pedretti, and Daphny Wells placed second in 1:58.48 behind Springville’s winning 1:57.28. The 4×400 team of Kayley Snowgren, Rory Philips, Elli Daugherty, and Ali Pedretti placed second in 4:43.96 behind Springville’s winning 4:25.02.
Aubrey Loeffler placed fourth in the high jump clearing 4-06 behind winner Rowan Jacobi of Springville at 5-04. Aida Troutman placed second in the long jump at 15-04 and Ali Pedretti fifth at 11-10.50 behind winner Madelyn Farmer of WACO at 15-05.50. Elli Daugherty placed third in the shot put at 28-08 and Willow Worley sixth at 25-06. Lizzie Camp placed third in the discus at 75-09 and Sophia Scharf fifth at 73-03.
Van Buren County Boys Results
Kayden Simmons won the 100-meter dash in 11.60. Lincoln Bainbridge won the 400-meter dash in 48.63 and the 400-meter hurdles in 53.63. Jace Duncan placed second in the 400-meter hurdles in 57.01 and third in the 400-meter dash in 53.64. Landry Loeffler won the 3,200-meter run in 10:39.23 and Gavin Noll placed second in 11:21.67.
Jaren Troxel placed 10th in the 100-meter dash in 12.57, Kaimrin Ellingson 13th in 12.72, and Braxton Headley 15th in 16.20. In the 200-meter dash, Troxel placed fourth in 24.70, Ellingson ninth in 26.39, Lyrick Krouse 14th in 28.56, and Headley 16th in 33.98 behind winner Layne Peska of Iowa Valley at 22.98.
Parker Boley placed seventh in the 110-meter hurdles in 19.13 behind winner Josh Read of Iowa Valley at 14.90. The shuttle hurdle relay team placed third in 1:11.29 behind Iowa Valley’s winning 1:03.62.
Kayden Farris placed sixth in the 800-meter run in 2:24.60 and Camden Wells seventh in 2:27.31 behind winner Jude Dykstra of WACO at 2:02.87. Landry Loeffler placed fourth in the 1,600-meter run in 4:54.66 and Sawyer Spiker 10th in 5:35.24 behind winner Sawyer Tschantz of Washington at 4:42.49. Spiker also placed sixth in the 3,200-meter run in 12:31.44.
The 4×200 teams placed fourth in 1:45.78 and fifth in 1:49.81 behind Iowa Valley’s winning 1:36.54. The 4×400 team placed second in 3:33.60 behind Iowa Valley’s winning 3:26.99. The 4×800 team placed fourth in 9:29.49 behind Washington’s winning 8:17.14. The sprint medley teams placed second in 1:43.97 and fifth in 1:53.63 behind Iowa Valley’s winning 1:41.02. The distance medley team placed second in 4:02.35 behind Springville’s winning 3:48.13.
Kayden Simmons placed third in the high jump clearing 5-08 behind Iowa Valley’s Josh Read and Fairfield’s Blake Burnett, who tied for first at 6-00. Jace Duncan placed ninth in the long jump at 17-03, Joni Yoder 10th at 16-01.50, and Carver Goehring 11th at 15-07. Ryder Simmons placed fourth in the shot put at 34-03, Kaden Miller eighth at 31-03, and Cooper Philp 10th at 27-11.25. Jackson Meek placed fifth in the discus at 103-02.50 and Cooper Philp ninth at 84-03.
Fairfield Boys Results
Fairfield brought a short limited roster and finished sixth in the boys team standings with 31 points but had several standout individual and relay performances.
The 4×100 relay team of Dayson Workman, Voss Richardson, Ethan Bisgard, and Spencer McCready won the event in a season-best time of 43.77, a mark that should qualify for the Drake Relays. Eli Zillman placed second in the long jump at 20-07.50 and Spencer McCready fourth at 20-01 behind winner Nolan Kriegel of Iowa Valley at 21-00. Blake Burnett tied for first in the high jump with Iowa Valley’s Josh Read, both clearing 6-00.
