Bridge View Center is pleased to announce that its next Wine Pairing Wednesday will be held Wednesday, April 8. Social gathering begins at 5:30 p.m., dinner will be served at 6 p.m. The cost is $60 per person and RSVP is required by Monday, April 6, 5 p.m. Please RSVP to the BVC Administration Office at 641-684-7000 or info@bridgeviewcenter.com. The Bridge View Center is located at 102 Church Street, Ottumwa, Iowa.
Wines are presented by Dimitri Wine & Spirits Vice President & General Sales Manager, Thomas A. Mason IV, from Davenport, Iowa.
“This will be an awesome wine tasting to attend,” Mason said. “The wines are unique, well balanced and will enhance Chef Adam’s three course menu. Plus, these wines are not sold locally so the only way to try them is to join us at the wine dinner!”
The following is Executive Chef Adam Hunt’s planned three course menu:
Starter
- Coconut Shrimp with Sweet Thai Chili and Japanese Dressing. Paired with Two Tuxedos
Sauvignon Blanc – Chile.
Main Entrée - Braised Beef Short Rib, with Roasted Fingerling Potatoes and Steamed Broccolini. Paired
with Los Haroldos Cabernet Franc – Argentina.
Dessert - Strawberry Butter Cake with Meyer Lemon Chantilly Cream, Garnished with a Chocolate
Covered Strawberry. Paired with Pasqua Sweet Rosé Semi Sparkling Wine – Italy.
“When I built tonight’s menu, I wanted to start the evening with something light and fun,” Hunt said. “The coconut shrimp has that crispy texture and a little sweetness from the coconut, with just enough heat from the Thai chili sauce to wake up your palate. The citrus notes in the dressing and the Sauvignon Blanc pairing really bring everything together. At the end of the day, what I love most about cooking is bringing people together around a table.”
