Merrill T. Rainbolt, 86, of Ottumwa, died at 6:40 p.m. March 16, 2026 at Vista Woods Care Center.
He was born December 27, 1939 in Ottumwa to Carl and Alvaree Krizer Rainbolt.
A resident of Ottumwa most of his life, Merrill had worked at Danielson Motor Company in Fairfield and took care of the Abingdon Cemetery.
He attended First Pentecostal Assembly of God. Merrill enjoyed working on cars, walking and riding his bike.
Surviving are his children, Marty (Shirley) Rainbolt of Abingdon, Jason Rainbolt of Ottumwa, Priscilla (Scott) Patterson of Ottumwa; 8 grandchildren, Cheyanne, Tige, Justin, Raymond, Jyl, Josh, Kyle and Bre; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Michelle “Micky” Kaise; a step-brother, Junior Daniels; ex-wives, Helen, Katherine and Cheryl.
Visitation will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday March 22nd at Reece Funeral Home with family present to greet friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday March 23rd at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.
