Authorities continue to seek answers in the death of Sam Davis, whose body was discovered April 29, 2015, in a river along a bike path with his bicycle nearby. Investigators with the Rock Island Police Department believe Davis may have been on his way to meet someone near the location where he was found, a detail that has remained central to the case.

Despite investigative efforts over the years, the circumstances surrounding his death have not been resolved, and the case remains open. Officials have not publicly released information identifying the person he may have planned to meet or whether foul play is suspected, but they continue to pursue leads.

Crime Stoppers of the Quad Cities is urging anyone with information to come forward. A combined reward of $5,000 is being offered — including $2,000 from Crime Stoppers and an additional $3,000 from a private source — for information that leads to an arrest in connection with the case.

Anyone with tips is asked to contact Crime Stoppers or submit information anonymously through the P3 Tips app. Investigators stress that even small details could help bring closure to the case in the Quad Cities area.
