A central Iowa respiratory therapist is facing sanctions from the state for alleged controlled-substance violations.
The Iowa Board of Respiratory Care and Polysomnography has charged Sarah Alice Lamb, 32, of Des Moines with obtaining, possessing or administering controlled substances without any legal authority; failure to notify the board of a criminal conviction within 30 days, and violating a state or federal regulation or law that relates to the practice of respiratory care.
The board has not disclosed any of the underlying circumstances that gave rise to the alleged violations or indicated when they occurred. Board records indicate the investigation into Lamb’s actions was initiated in 2024.
A hearing on the disciplinary charges is scheduled for Feb. 16, 2026.
The charges against Lamb were approved in November 2025, but were made public only this week by the Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals and Licensing.
Lamb declined to comment on the case and referred all questions on the matter to her attorney, F. Montgomery Brown. The Iowa Capital Dispatch was unable to reach Brown on Friday.
