A 61-year-old Fairfield man faces multiple felony charges after Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement agents executed search warrants early Monday morning that allegedly uncovered approximately six pounds of methamphetamine, marijuana, three firearms, and drug distribution evidence at his residence.

Gregory Allen Warnke has been charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine over five grams (Class B Felony), three counts of dominion/control of firearm/offensive weapon by felon (Class D Felonies), and possession with intent to deliver marijuana less than 50 kilograms (Class D Felony).

According to court records, investigators executed a search warrant on Monday, February 2nd, at approximately 4:15 a.m. for a FedEx package destined for “Options Open Inc” in the 900 block of South 5th Street in Fairfield. Located inside the package was approximately six pounds of a crystalline substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

A check with the Iowa Secretary of State showed Options Open Inc. registered to a Greg Leeds. Investigators believe, based on their investigation, that Greg Leeds is an alias for Gregory Allen Warnke.

Agents conducted a controlled delivery of the package with a portion of the methamphetamine seized. The package was taken inside the residence by an unwitting resident before investigators executed a search warrant at the location where Warnke is currently residing.

The search warrant yielded substantial evidence, according to court documents. Items seized included the portion of methamphetamine from the FedEx package, digital scales, various packaging materials, three firearms, purported marijuana, U.S. currency, apparent drug ledger and notes, and drug paraphernalia.

Investigators also discovered another empty FedEx package in Warnke’s bedroom with similar decoy items, wrapping, and consistent shipper and receiver information matching the package containing the six pounds of methamphetamine. Several other decoy items and packaging materials were also located, indicating this was not an isolated incident, according to court records.

Among the items seized were one handgun—a Century Arms TP9 CANIK—and two apparent unmarked, non-serialized rifles. The firearms were located, documented, and seized in Warnke’s bedroom. Court records indicate Warnke is a convicted felon who has forfeited the right to possess firearms, resulting in the three weapons charges.

Warnke was not home during the execution of the search warrant and was taken into custody at a separate location.

After his initial court appearance, Warnke was assigned a $75,000 cash only bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 13th.
