The Marion County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a Knoxville man following an investigation involving alleged sexual exploitation of a minor and multiple violations of Iowa’s sex offender registry requirements.
According to court documents, on January 12 at approximately 12:00 p.m., the Marion County Sheriff’s Department received information regarding Sloan Vodochodsky, 18, of Knoxville, who is a registered sex offender in the state of Iowa.
Court records state that a forensic examination of Vodochodsky’s cellular device revealed digital images and videos depicting a juvenile female engaged in sexual acts. Investigators report that Vodochodsky admitted to receiving, possessing, and viewing the images and videos, which are classified as child sexual abuse material. Two counts are associated with these allegations.
The criminal complaint further states that Vodochodsky sent explicit images and videos of himself to a juvenile female. He allegedly admitted to manufacturing the digital images and videos and sending them to known juvenile females.
Investigators also determined that Vodochodsky was residing within 2,000 feet of a registered Iowa daycare facility, which is prohibited under Iowa law for registered sex offenders. Court papers additionally indicate that Vodochodsky maintained several internet accounts that were not registered with the Iowa Sex Offender Registry Database, as required.
Vodochodsky was arrested and is currently being held in the Marion County Jail on a $10,000 bond. A no-contact order was served on January 14. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for January 22.
Vodochodsky faces multiple charges, including two counts of sex offender registry violations, first offense (aggravated misdemeanors); dissemination and exhibition of obscene material to minors (serious misdemeanor); and purchase or possession of a depiction of a minor engaged in a sex act, first offense (Class D felony).
