Ottumwa Regional Health Center announced it has earned a five-star rating from Healthgrades, the leading quality outcomes third party ratings site analyzing clinical data for every short-term acute care hospital in the country. Ottumwa Regional Health Center was rated five stars for Hip Fracture Treatment. This achievement reflects Ottumwa Regional Health Center’s commitment to consistently delivering the best care possible and place the organization in the upper echelon of hospitals for specialty care nationwide.

“Earning this recognition from Healthgrades is a tremendous honor and a reflection of our commitment to providing quality care to our community,” said K.C. DeBoer, Interim CEO of Ottumwa Regional Health Center. “Our incredible team goes above and beyond to ensure every patient receives the care they need and can get back to living the life they love.”

To identify the top-performing hospitals for the most common outpatient procedures and conditions, Healthgrades focused exclusively on patient outcomes. As part of its 2026 analysis, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates at short-term acute care facilities that perform critical orthopedic procedures in an outpatient environment.

Ottumwa Regional’s achievements are based solely on what matters most: patient outcomes. Each year, Healthgrades evaluates risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for over 30 common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide to identify the top hospitals in key specialty areas, including hip fracture treatment. Through easy-to-understand, objective measures of hospital performance, Healthgrades empowers patients with the information they need to find a hospital that excels in their procedure or condition.
