Sandra Jean Rowell, 80, of Ottumwa, died at 7:12 a.m. August 7, 2025 at MercyOne Westlake in West Des Moines.
She was born April 14, 1945 in Ottumwa to Leo E. and Jean M. Hopwood Stodghill. She married Marvin Rowell in 1963.
A 1963 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Sandra drove a school bus for many years, worked at SIEDA, and retired from Farm Bureau.
Sandra loved to travel especially to Florida and South Dakota. She operated a tour guide company, making frequent trips to Branson. Sandra enjoyed trips to the casino to play Bingo.
Surviving is her husband, Marvin; sons, David Rowell (Steve Elbert) of West Des Moines and Jeff Rowell of Waukee; and nieces and nephews, Maliea (Troy) Hart, Curtis (Julie) Blackwell and Jeannie (Joe) Grife.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Kathy Blackwell.
Visitation will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, August 10th at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday August 11th at Shaul Cemetery with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating.
