Robert “Bob” Gene Tade, 83, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on August 1, 2025 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born in Livonia, Missouri on June 29, 1942 to Hubert and Mildred Abbott Tade. He grew up with his two brothers and one sister. After graduating from Lancaster High School, Bob joined the United States Army where he served his country with honor for three years, traveling to Germany before he got out of the Army at 22 years old. Following his service in the Army, Bob met the love of his life, Carol Ellen Graves. They were married on November 25, 1965, and were blessed with three sons; Justin Stacey, Tad Dirksen, and Gavin Darek, who all adored Bob beyond measure. Remarkably, all three of Bob’s sons followed in his footsteps and served in the United States military, as did his granddaughter, Camryn, who is currently attending West Point Military Academy.
In 1977, Bob and Carol moved to Bloomfield, Iowa, where they both taught for Davis County Community Schools. Bob taught the Building Trades class at Davis County High School for 30 years, impacting hundreds of lives. In retirement, Bob loved riding around Bloomfield on his side-by-side, making stops to see friends around town, taking road trips throughout the country, and collecting antiques with Carol. Bob’s greatest pride was his family. He loved to attend his grandchildren’s events – ball games, dance recitals and birthday parties – and was always up for a good time.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carol; three sons, Justin (Sheryl) Tade of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Dirk (Lindsay) Tade of Waukee, Iowa, Gavin (Angie) Tade of Southlake, Texas; eight grandchildren, Camryn, Trevor, Dalton, Cali, Messina, Beau, Sadie, Axel; brother, Lou (Marty) Tade of Livonia, Missouri; four nieces; and a nephew. Bob left his mark on this world and will be missed beyond measure.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Tade, and his sister, Karen Marvin.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Mark Warren officiating. Military rites performed by Reed-Whisler Post #78 of the American Legion will follow the service at the funeral home. Immediately following the service, a celebration of Bob’s life will take place at the Speakeasy Cabin, 25236 190th St., Bloomfield, Iowa 52537. Family and friends are warmly invited to join in honoring Bob and raising a glass in his memory. A memorial has been established to the Bloomfield United Methodist Church Praise Band and Choir.
