The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help after responding to a hit-and-run incident Tuesday evening.
Multiple calls came in reporting a black Dodge Charger with Iowa license plate NQJ227 involved in the crash. Witnesses told deputies the Charger hit another vehicle, swerved off the road into a yard, and struck a utility pole before taking off eastbound. The car reportedly lost its rear bumper during the incident.
The driver, described as a white male, is believed to have been intoxicated at the time of the crash.
Deputies say the second vehicle wasn’t visibly damaged, but the yard and utility pole did suffer impact. No injuries were reported, and the suspect has not been located.
