Over 1,300 acres of Iowa farmland are set to hit the auction block in May 2025, presenting a unique opportunity for those looking to expand their agricultural holdings. The highlight of the month will be the largest auction in Keokuk County on May 15, where two parcels totaling 151.88 acres will be available.

Sealed bids will be accepted, allowing buyers to submit offers privately, either for each tract individually or as a combined parcel. This format can create a competitive atmosphere, potentially driving up the sale price. The auction is being managed by Rachelle Heller of Hertz Farm Management on behalf of Strohman Family Farms LLC.

Both parcels are currently leased through the end of the 2025 crop year, providing a steady cash flow for buyers through a second half cash rent credit at closing. This arrangement allows new owners to benefit from immediate income while planning their future farming strategies.

The auctions will take place across 12 counties in Iowa, ranging from smaller tracts of less than 100 acres to larger parcels. Interested buyers should prepare by familiarizing themselves with the bidding process and the specific terms of each sale.
