Dale Littlejohn, 82, of Oskaloosa, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Northern Mahaska Specialty Care.
Dale David Littlejohn, son of Floyd R. and Marie Helena (Scott) Littlejohn, was born December 10, 1942, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Dale was a 1961 graduate of Oskaloosa High School; he farmed with his dad and built pole barns until the early 1980s. He was inducted into the Army National Guard on September 26, 1964, and served six months of active duty. He was then discharged to the Army National Guard.
In 1983, Dale went to work for the Oskaloosa school system as the Transportation Director. He served in that capacity until 2000.
It was on a blind date that Dale met his wife, Jeri Ann Martin, and they were married on April 6, 1975, at the Knoxville First Christian Church. As a young man, Dale enjoyed drag racing and karate; he enjoyed tractor pulls and hunting throughout his life. Dale was a member of the First Christian Church and the American Legion.
His family includes his wife, Jeri Littlejohn of Oskaloosa; a nephew, Mike (Angie ) Jones of Knoxville; several great-nephews, great-nieces, and many cousins.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Lois Jones, and one niece, Kim Feagins.
The Funeral Service for Dale Littlejohn will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 12, 2025, at Langkamp Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa, with Rev. Molly Goodrich officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by Oskaloosa Honor Guard. Cremation will follow the funeral service with a private interment of ashes in Forest Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon on Sunday, May 11 at Langkamp Funeral Chapel; the family will be present from 2-4 to greet visitors. Memorial contributions can be made to the F.F.A. Club at Oskaloosa High School or The Shooting Club.
