A beloved figure in the Pella Community School District has been honored for her outstanding dedication to education. Mary Wisniewski, known affectionately as Mrs. W, has been named the 2025 Teacher of the Year by Leighton State Bank.
With three decades of teaching experience—20 of those in the Pella Schools—Wisniewski has been a constant presence in local elementary classrooms. Her commitment to her students and their families has left a lasting impression throughout the community.
Members of the Pella Middle School Student Council helped present the award, recognizing her not only for her academic instruction, but also for the life lessons she’s imparted to generations of students. As she wraps up what may be her final year in the classroom, colleagues and students alike say her impact will be felt for years to come.
