Ottumwa Radio had the opportunity to attend the 2025 PACT Awards Banquet last night, held at the beautiful Valley View Event Center, located between Centerville and Moulton.
Walking into the event, the buzz of conversations and laughter overtook us, immediately conveying a fun and exciting atmosphere. The night started off with a cocktail hour where the guests were encouraged to mingle and chat with colleagues and other likeminded individuals invested in Centerville and Appanoose county. Double D BBQ prepared a fantastic bbq dinner and the bar had a steady flow of people to and from it, including myself!
The awards ceremony started off with a video, produced by Iowa Media Group, to help everyone hear from various people within PACT and get a feel for the passion they have in their jobs and the community. The awards were then given out to the sound of applause, and even a few standing ovations. As attendees, we were even treated to a look at this years Pancake Day Theme, presented by Miss Pancake Day 2024 – Noelle Craver! The theme is 76th Annual Pancake Day: Peace Love & Pancakes!
And now, the moment we have all been waiting for! The award goes to:

Community Beautification Award – Centerville Garden Club

Main Street Business of the Year – Gypsy Quarter

Emerging Business of the Year – Country Roads Meat Market

Volunteer of the Year – Lakeview PTO

Appanoose County Business of the Year – Bogle Realty

Hometown Pride Award – Richard Gorden

Legacy Business of the Year – Bratz Shell

Citizen of the Year – John Cosby
Ottumwa Radio would like to wish a huge congratulations to all of the award winners!
