The Sigourney City Council held its final meeting of the month on Wednesday night.
The meeting opened with the approval of the consent Agenda.
Council discussed meeting with Helena Hayes on April 2nd, 2025 at city hall to go over city budgets and to go over challenges and answer questions and get insights on whats happening in Des Moines.
In Park and Recreation department the council approved purchasing 3 trash receptacles for Legion Park. Each receptacle costs $826.00 each.
High school students also was approved to create a new sign for the soccer and flag football field.They would design the signs then have them approved to install them when they are finished.
Also tonight on the agenda was a container ordinance.58 people in the city owns dumpsters from cox dumpsters.The city discussed private home owners to only have trash cans and only businesses have dumpsters. All garbage is to be placed in bags. It will help with Garbage piling up, smell, and unwanted animals, and health concern.
