Melissa Ann Landtiser, born June 1, 1978, in Ottumwa, IA, passed away on January 3, 2025. Being a loving and spirited individual, Melissa resided in Eddyville, Iowa, where she was known for her adventurous spirit and a unique sense of humor that made everyone around her laugh. She found joy and purpose in the simplest of things. Melissa was a passionate lover of the outdoors. Spending time by the river was where she found great joy in being in nature. Melissa was a strong, independent woman who loved helping people. To her, family was everything. She was never married, but her greatest joy and accomplishment was her daughter, whom she loved unconditionally. Melissa was also incredibly close to her sister and nephews, who were a constant source of love and support. Additionally, she had a special place in her heart for her cats, who were her faithful companions. Melissa was preceded in death by her grandparents Raymond and Helen Akers and Gilbert and Betty Landtiser. She was survived by her daughter Emilee Landtiser, her parents Doug and Cheryl Landtiser, sister Mindy Griffiths, nephews Dalton Griffiths and family, Dawson Griffiths and family. A celebration of life visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2024 at the Eddyville Celebrate Life Center from 5-7 pm with Melissa’s family present. Memorials may be directed to the family.
