Kimberly Anne Maher, 73, of Ottumwa, died at 5:22 p.m. January 8, 2025 at Hospice House in Ottumwa.

She was born January 6, 1952 in Ottumwa to Wilbur Wayne Jr. and Donna Katherine Kirk Black. She married Rick Howk and they later divorced. She married Doug Pilcher and they later divorced. She married Thomas Edward Maher August 18, 2001.

Growing up in Ottumwa, Kim graduated high school in 1970 while living in Fort Collins, CO. She served 3 years in the US Army having been stationed in Germany. Kim worked for the Yellow Rose for a short time, Plumb Supply, Winger Contracting and was co-owner of Maher Plumbing since 2006.

Kim was an avid bowler, having been secretary for the Elks Bowling League, secretary and coach for YABA, was on the board of directors and past president for WBA and was inducted into the USBC local hall of fame. She was a member, Past Exalted Ruler and secretary of B.P.O. Elks Lodge #347 and served as the First Lady of the Iowa Elk Association from 2013-2014.

Surviving is her husband, Tom; their children, Steve (Jenny) Shaw, Jake (Jewel) Maher, Tara (Mike) Conley, Nate (Jacquelyn) Maher, Amanda Pilcher, Morgan (Michael) Wilson and Kate (Alex) Brice; grandchildren, Sadie Shaw, Schuyler Harland, Paige (Jake) Waller, Carin Davidson, Katherine Hunter, Spencer Maher, Kayla (Ryan) Rankin, Chelsea Maher, Adrianne Hunter, Sophia Wilson, Miles Wilson and Maximus Brice; great-granddaughter, Kinsley Waller; sisters, Kathe Paulus of Ottumwa and Gina (Kevin) Throckmorton of Longboat Key, FL; brother, Chris (Kristine) Black of Ottumwa; along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Sherry Black.

Her body has been cremated.

Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, January 12th at Reece Funeral Home with an Elks service at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 13th at Reece Funeral Home with Chad Willis officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Serving Davis and Wapello Counties or B.P.O. Elks Lodge #347 for scholarships.
