According to the city of Ottumwa, beginning Tuesday, November 19, 2024, the easternmost lane of Highway 149 will be closed between West Fourth Street and the alley behind Walgreens for an Ottumwa Water Works project. This lane is expected to close shortly after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning and remain closed the rest of the week, weather permitting.
Due to the length of heavy trucks with their trailers, they are not to turn right at the intersection of West Fourth Street and Highway 149 when coming from the east. These trucks must go straight to North McLean Street where they can turn right and make their way to Highway 149. For questions, contact Ottumwa Water Works at 641-684-4606.
