On Saturday, December 7, author Marvin Knoot (kanoot) will be at Eagle’s Nest Christian Bookstore in Oskaloosa to autograph copies of his new children’s book, Barry the Bare Bear. This delightful story is filled with alliteration and teaches a lesson about discovering kindness and the benefits it brings. The author explains, “children from ages 1 to 9 really seem to enjoy learning about Barry, and I am impressed with how well they understand what kindness is and why it matters!”
Knoot lived his first 65 years in Southeast Iowa, retiring from Cargill Eddyville in 2020. His wife Julie retired as school nurse at North Mahaska in 2022, and they now live in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
The Eagle’s Nest, on the west side of the Oskaloosa Square at 117 South Market Street, will be open on December 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will have books available for purchase and autograph.
