OTTUMWA (Iowa Heartland History Connection) – The Iowa Heartland History Connection is thrilled to announce the launch of our annual fundraiser with an incredible head start, thanks to a generous $20,000 donation from community leader and philanthropist Dennis Hohn. This significant contribution sets a strong foundation for our fundraising efforts, aimed at supporting the various services and programs the Iowa Heartland History Connection offers.
Dennis Hohn’s donation underscores his longstanding commitment to the Ottumwa community and his belief in the power of collective action to bring about positive change. “I am honored to support this cause and hope that my contribution will inspire others to join in and make a difference,” said Hohn.
The funds raised will be used for multiple museum offerings that benefit our community:
New Exhibits: We are continuing to rotate and improve our exhibits with every new year. Collection Digitization: Our collections should be more accessible to everyone and we can achieve that through digital access.
History Summer Camp: A summer camp will provide fun, educational, hands-on activities for our community’s youth.
Operating Costs: Every institution needs funding to operate and this allows us to continue our educational work.
