The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging residents to become Honorary Members of the Iowa State Sheriffs’ and Deputies Association Institute, according to a press release from Sheriff Brad Hudson.

The Honorary Membership Program allows Van Buren County citizens to show their support for the men and women who serve the community while helping fund critical training and resources for Iowa’s sheriffs, deputies, jailers, and sheriff’s office staff.

Membership also supports the ISSDA Evelyn Covington Scholarship, youth programs, and Special Olympics Iowa, benefiting Iowa families and communities beyond just law enforcement.

Residents who are not yet Honorary Members are encouraged to join at issda.org/join. Honorary Membership packets may also be arriving in mailboxes soon for those who are already members.
