Iowa gubernatorial candidate Rob Sand’s campaign announced it raised $16.3 million during the latest fundraising period, covering July 15 through October 14, 2026.
According to the campaign, the total nearly doubles the previous fundraising record for the same period in an Iowa gubernatorial election.
The campaign reported receiving more than 88,000 contributions during the reporting period, with an average contribution of $106.35. Nearly 95% of contributions were $100 or less, and nearly two-thirds of donors were Iowa residents, according to the campaign.
The campaign also reported receiving donations from individuals in all 99 Iowa counties. It said more than 3,300 Republicans and more than 8,000 independent voters have contributed to Sand’s campaign.
Deputy Campaign Manager Emma O’Brien said the fundraising reflects support for Sand’s priorities, which include lowering costs, strengthening public schools and addressing concerns across party lines.
The campaign also provided figures comparing its fundraising with that of Sand’s opponent. Those figures have not been independently verified for this report and are not included as established facts.
The fundraising announcement comes as Iowa voters prepare to choose their next governor. Campaign fundraising totals provide information about financial support for candidates but do not, on their own, indicate how voters will cast their ballots.
