Patricia Anne (Gibbons) Worley entered into eternal life on September 29, 2026. She transitioned peacefully in her sleep with her beloved husband Thomas at her side at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield, IA.  She was 75 years young.

Patricia (Pat) was born on June 3, 1951, in Longford, Longford County, Ireland.  Her birth name was Anna McDerrmot.  She flew to the United States when she was 6 months old and was the youngest passenger to fly over the Atlantic Ocean on the airline at that time.  The captain held Pat in his arms in the cockpit of the plane.

She was adopted by her loving parents Thomas Lloyd and Genevieve Muriel (Farrell) Gibbons.  In her early years she was raised in Antioch, IL, and traveled to see her childhood home many times in her later years as she had fond memories of Antioch.  When Pat was a teenager, her parents and family moved to the south side of Chicago.  Pat graduated from St. Paul’s Catholic and Kennedy High Schools.  She worked as a clerk for several years at the Chicago Board of Trade.

Pat moved to Fairfield, Iowa on June 30, 1983, to be with her parents. Pat met Thomas Worley at the Beckley Group in Fairfield. They were married on July 1, 1989, at St. Joseph’s Church in East Pleasant Plain.  They were married 37 years on July 1st of this year. 

Pat was an accountant for 40 years and worked at the Beckley Group, Corporate University, and Donatech Corporation.  She retired in March 2012.  Pat enjoyed cooking and walking in the area parks oftentimes with her dogs.

Pat was proceeded in death by her father Thomas Gibbons, her mother Genevieve (Farrell) Gibbons, her brother Michael Gibbons, her niece Jennifer Gibbons, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Robert and Dolores Worley, and sister-in-law Mary Worley.

Pat is survived by her husband, Thomas of Fairfield, her sister Peggy (Greg) Nawrocki of Allegan, MI; her brother Thomas (Mary) Gibbons of Antioch, IL; her sister-law-Lynne Gibbons of Fond du Lac, WI; her sister-in law Karen (Charles) Rubey of Fairfield, her sister-in-law Cynthia Worley of Harlingen, TX; her brother-in-law Robert (Susan) Worley of Chattanooga, TN; her brother-in-law Gerard Worley of Austin, TX; her aunt Mary Gertrude Janz of Seattle, WA; and aunt-in-law Loyola Davis of Battle Ground, WA.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, her pets, and special family friends Saniye Izol, and David Foraker.

Visitation services will be held on Friday October 23, 2026, from 5 to 7 pm followed by a wake prayer service at the Cranston Family Funeral Home at 2805 West Burlington Ave, Fairfield.  Her Celebration of Life Funeral Mass will be on Saturday October 24, 2026, at 11am at the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church at 3100 West Madison in Fairfield.  The Reverend Father Leonard Dubi, a retired priest from the Archdiocese of Chicago, will be the Mass celebrant.  He is a special family friend and a friend of Pat’s for over 56 years.  Pat was cremated per her wishes; and there will be no burial at this time.

Memorial Contributions can be directed to the University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center, The Lord’s Cupboard, St. Joseph’s Cemetery, or to a charitable organization of the donor’s choice in memory of Pat.  Friends may leave online condolences at www.cranstonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
