The Ottumwa City Council opened its meeting Wednesday evening with an invocation delivered by Matt Dalbey.
The City of Ottumwa allows individuals representing different religious or philosophical backgrounds to participate in opening invocations at council meetings.
The invocation was given before the council moved forward with the remainder of its scheduled agenda.
