The Knoxville Fire Department is celebrating a special milestone for A Shift A937 after crews added the department’s first stork decal to an ambulance.
According to the Knoxville Fire Department, the tradition began several years ago as a way to recognize ambulance crews who help deliver a baby in the field.
When a baby is born before reaching the hospital, crews place a stork decal on the ambulance as a special reminder of the delivery and the teamwork involved.
The department congratulated everyone involved in the latest delivery, saying it was a great example of teamwork by all members of the crew.
The stork decal will now serve as a lasting reminder of the special call and the newest addition to the community.
