Iowa’s General Fund revenue is projected to increase over the next two fiscal years, according to a statement issued by Governor Kim Reynolds following the October 16 meeting of the Revenue Estimating Conference.

The projections estimate that new General Fund receipts will total $8.54 billion in fiscal year 2027, representing a 2.8% increase over the previous fiscal year. For fiscal year 2028, receipts are projected to reach $8.83 billion, an increase of 3.4%.

The Revenue Estimating Conference reviews and updates the state’s revenue estimates, which help lawmakers plan the state budget.

In her statement, Reynolds said the updated projections reflect changes in Iowa’s economic activity and revenue conditions. She also credited fiscal policies adopted by her administration and the Republican-led Legislature for the state’s financial outlook.

The projections are estimates and do not represent final revenue totals. Actual receipts may vary depending on economic conditions and other factors.
