Two area school districts are hosting upcoming community meetings to share information about their proposed bond referendums and give residents the opportunity to ask questions and tour facilities.
Pekin Community School District — September 30th
The Pekin Community School District is inviting community members to an informational meeting about its proposed bond on Wednesday, September 30th at 6:00 p.m. in the Media Center. The meeting will include a bond overview focused on improving district buildings and facilities, and a property tax impact presentation from a Piper Sandler representative who will walk attendees through the financial details and what the bond means for property taxes in the community. Following the presentation, there will be an open question and community discussion period, and attendees will have the opportunity to tour district buildings.
Keota Community School District — Three Meetings Planned
The Keota Community School District has three community information meetings scheduled in October. The first is a Community Open House on Monday, October 6th at 6:00 p.m. in the Auditorium, where attendees can learn more about the district’s plans, their community impact, and tour the buildings. The second meeting on Tuesday, October 14th at 6:00 p.m. in the Auditorium will focus specifically on property tax impact, with a Piper Sandler representative available to explain what the bond could mean financially for the community and to answer individual questions. Building tours will also be available following that meeting. A second Community Open House is scheduled for Monday, October 27th at 6:00 p.m. in the Auditorium, featuring a question and answer session, discussion of the district’s plans and community impact, and building tours.
