–Ottumwa Regional Health Center (ORHC) is pleased to announce the addition
of two new ambulances to its Ottumwa Regional Medical Intensive Care Services (ORMICS) Emergency Medical
Services fleet, reinforcing the hospital’s commitment to providing safe, reliable, and high-quality emergency care
throughout the region.
This comes as ORMICS celebrates its 45th year of providing service to Ottumwa and Wapello County. The new
ambulances replace aging vehicles that have experienced increasing maintenance issues and service interruptions. The
upgraded units feature modern patient lift systems, new patient care equipment, improved reliability, and a more
comfortable working environment for ORMICS/EMS teams.
“These ambulances represent an important investment in both patient care and the dedicated EMS professionals who
serve our communities every day,” said Richard Bergmann, CEO of Ottumwa Regional Health Center. “Two new
ambulances are already in service, and we’re continuing to strengthen our fleet with a third ambulance on order that is
expected to arrive after the first of the year. When residents call 911, they deserve confidence that a well-equipped
ambulance will be there when they need it most.”
The new vehicles are already in service and helping ensure ORHC EMS maintains its ability to respond quickly and
effectively across southeast Iowa. The additional ambulance on order will further enhance fleet readiness and support the
growing needs of the communities served by ORHC.
