Keota Transmission and Repair will officially become part of Farmers Cooperative Association on October 1st, 2026, according to an announcement from FCA.
Despite the change in ownership, customers should expect very little to change day to day. The business will keep the Keota Transmission and Repair name, all current employees are staying on, and Erik Strand — who founded the shop 17 years ago — will continue running it as location manager. The shop’s phone number and location remain the same.
FCA said Strand and his crew’s reputation in the community was a driving factor in the decision. “Erik Strand and his crew have spent 17 years building a business this community trusts, and they earned that reputation one customer at a time,” the announcement read. “Protecting what they’ve built has been the priority on both sides of the conversation.”
With FCA behind it, Keota Transmission and Repair will now have a larger organization supporting its growth — and importantly, that organization is farmer-owned, meaning the people backing the shop are the same people who live and work in the area. The shop will also work alongside FCA’s Broadway Service Center, a tire and maintenance shop, giving customers of either business more options for vehicle service close to home.
The transition becomes official October 1st. Until then, the shop remains open and taking work as usual. Those with questions about the transition can contact Djamel at dkhali@keotafarmerscoop.com. For vehicle-related questions, call the shop directly at 319-461-5767.
