Iowa Department of Natural Resources upland wildlife research biologist Todd Bogenschutz has been recognized for his career-long work improving wildlife habitat and strengthening gamebird populations.
Bogenschutz received a Special Recognition Award from the Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies during the organization’s annual awards ceremony on September 16 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
The award recognizes his work supporting conservation efforts and helping ensure Farm Bill conservation programs provide lasting benefits for upland wildlife habitat.
“His work has measurably improved Iowa’s habitat and gamebird populations at a landscape scale,” said Pete Hildreth, administrator of the Iowa DNR Conservation-Recreation Division.
The Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies presents Special Recognition Awards to individuals or groups with a distinguished record of accomplishment in the conservation community and in advancing the organization’s work.
Bogenschutz was among 13 individuals, one group, one state agency and one private landowner recognized during this year’s ceremony for their contributions to fish and wildlife conservation.
The Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies represents fish and wildlife agencies across North America and works to advance science-based management and conservation of fish, wildlife and their habitats.
